Lost power for a little over 30 hours. No electricity, no land line, no televsion, no internet.
The back-up generator kicked in and we had limited power in the kitchen, garage (to get the cars out) and the master bedroom.
My husband said it was bliss. Quiet night, neighbors visiting to talk. "Like the old days," my husband said. Just people talking and visiting. Everyone in bed early. No distractions.
The next morning, my cell phone rings: My friend Susan asks if I've heard the big news.
"No...what?" I ask.
"Jessica Simpson's father left his wife after 35 years of marriage and he's with a 21 year-old MALE model."
Sometimes it really is better to be left in the dark.
